Dublin 14th August – On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan, the Embassy organized a dignified Flag Hoisting Ceremony. Ambassador Aisha Farooqui raised national flag. Messages from President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read out.
In her remarks, the Ambassador paid a rich tribute to the founding fathers and heroes of Pakistan who gave their lives to achieve freedom for our nation and also to those who continue making sacrifices till today. Praising the gallantry of our brave armed forces, the Ambassador stated that the 78th Independence Day was a special day as nation also celebrated recent victory in Marka e Haq operation in an unprovoked attack by enemy on our country.
During the ceremony, some members of Pakistan community and their organizations were also presented shields to recognize and appreciate their valuable services and contribution towards strengthening of Pakistan Ireland relations as well as serving Irish Pakistani communities.
On this occasion, cake was also cut to celebrate the 78th anniversary. The guests were served refreshments at the end of the ceremony.
