The Embassy commemorated the 86th Pakistan Day with a simple yet dignified flag hoisting ceremony, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism associated with the historic occasion.
The ceremony formally commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Ambassador Mariam Aftab. Attendees observed the proceedings with respect and solemnity as the national flag was raised, symbolizing the resilience and aspirations of the nation.
During the event, special messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister/Minister for Foreign Affairs Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar were read out to the audience. The messages highlighted the significance of Pakistan Day, reaffirming the country’s commitment to progress, unity, and national development.
In her remarks, Ambassador Mariam Aftab paid a heartfelt tribute to the founding fathers and national heroes who sacrificed their lives for the creation of Pakistan. She also acknowledged the ongoing sacrifices of individuals who continue to serve and protect the nation.
The Ambassador praised the courage and gallantry of Pakistan’s armed forces, particularly highlighting their role in defending the homeland during May 2025’s Marka-e-Haq in response to an unprovoked attack, as well as their continued efforts in the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil Haq.
Addressing broader regional and global concerns, Ambassador Aftab expressed hope for the restoration of dialogue and diplomacy to address conflicts in the Middle East and to overcome challenges affecting regional and international peace and security.
The ceremony concluded on a note of unity and renewed commitment to the ideals upon which Pakistan was founded.
