In observance of October 27 as Kashmir Black Day, the Embassy of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Kashmir Peace & Solidarity Council Ireland, organized a significant webinar that attracted a diverse group of attendees. Participants included Irish parliamentarians, members of political parties, academia, legal organizations, and civil society representatives.
Prominent speakers addressed the forum, including Irish Senator Michael Carrigy, Kiran Allen from People Before Profit, Dr. Guray Alpar, President of the Geopolitical Foresight Institute (GFI), and Ambassador Aisha Farooqui. Each speaker highlighted the day’s significance, underscoring the ongoing human rights violations and security challenges in Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Speakers expressed their solidarity with the people of Kashmir and supported their struggle for self-determination. Senator Carrigy and Dr. Alpar emphasized the need for international attention to address these humanitarian issues, while Kiran Allen called for amplified global advocacy to safeguard the rights of Kashmiris.
Ambassador Aisha Farooqui reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle, stressing the need for a peaceful settlement to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute for sustainable peace in South Asia. The event concluded with a renewed call for a united international front to work towards resolving the long-standing issue, respecting human rights, and supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
