To observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Mission, in collaboration with the Kashmir Peace and Solidarity Council, Ireland, organized an event on 5th February 2024. The event was attended by a large number of people, including Irish parliamentarians, representatives of various political parties, local councilors, human rights activists, legal experts, and members of the Pakistani-Kashmiri diaspora.
Participants were briefed about the significance of Kashmir Solidarity Day and ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) following the Indian Government’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5th August 2019. India, through its atrocities, has turned Jammu and Kashmir into the world’s largest open prison. Participants expressed grave concern over the plight of the Kashmiri people and crimes committed by Indian occupier forces. They emphasized the need for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions to settle these issues in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, enabling them to freely exercise their right to self-determination.
Pakistan unequivocally pledged to continue its moral, diplomatic, and political support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir until the realization of their right to self-determination.
