Dublin 15 Comes Together to Celebrate the Spirit of Ramadan 2026

More than 300 members of the Dublin 15 community came together on Saturday evening to mark the blessed month of Ramadan at a large community Iftar dinner organised locally in D15.

The event brought together families, neighbours and friends from across the area in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The gathering reflected the rich diversity of Dublin 15, with strong representation from different communities, as well as women and children, making it a truly family centred occasion.

Ramadan, observed by Muslims worldwide, is a month of fasting, reflection, charity and community. The Iftar meal, which takes place at sunset, is a special moment when families and communities come together to break their fast. Saturday’s event was not only about sharing food, but also about strengthening community bonds and promoting unity, respect and understanding among neighbours.

The evening was praised for its organisation and spirit of togetherness. Volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the event, creating a welcoming space for all attendees.

Speaking after the event, organiser Asad Ali expressed his gratitude to the many friends, families and volunteers who contributed their time and effort.

“This event was about bringing our local community together in the spirit of Ramadan, a month that teaches us compassion, generosity and unity. Seeing over 300 people gathered in harmony was truly heartwarming. I am deeply thankful to everyone who supported and participated.”

The successful gathering highlighted the strong sense of community in Dublin 15 and the importance of inclusive events that bring people of all backgrounds together.
