Islam and Ireland Conference was organised on 17/10/2022, Dublin by the UCD Newman Centre, the Ansari Institute for Global Engagement with Religion at the University of Notre Dame, the Clingen Family Centre for the Study of Modern Ireland in the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies at the University of Notre Dame, and the Dublin City Interfaith Forum.
Few community renowned Pakistanis also participated as part of panel discussions. The Conference was inaugurated by the Minsiter S.Harris and Ex President Mary McAleese was part of the opening discussions.
The conference had participation of all major Muslim nationalities living in Ireland. The conference had coverage of RTE Irish National News Channel and interviewed Pakistani woman Fahmeda Naheed working with An Garda Síochána and her 13 years old Irish born daughter. Both shared their lived-experiences.
Mr. Naeem Iqbal, Shaykh Dr. Umar Al-Qadri as panel speaker and Ammar Ali also participated in the event.
