Cork, March 17, 2025 – The Pakistani community in Ireland took part in the grand St. Patrick’s Day celebration parade, showcasing their vibrant culture and commitment to unity. The event was a remarkable display of multiculturalism and solidarity, bringing together diverse communities under one banner.
Fahmeda Naheed played a key role in organizing the Parade of Nations in collaboration with Amnesty International, SECAD, Cork Migrant Centre, and Sauti Studio. This initiative highlighted the spirit of inclusivity and the importance of fostering relationships between different nationalities.
The theme of this year’s parade, Building a Better World, emphasized the value of understanding and creating partnerships among nations. Participants championed the message that through cooperation and mutual respect, a brighter future can be built for all. Additionally, the Parade of Nations carried a significant focus on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting the importance of sustainability, equality, and global progress.
Michael O’ Martin and Lord Mayor greeted us warmly, acknowledging the significance of the event in promoting diversity and inclusion. Michael O’ Martin also attended the parade in Cork this year, further highlighting the importance of multicultural participation in such celebrations.
