Elon Musk has officially unveiled Tesla’s highly anticipated autonomous Robotaxi, nicknamed the Cybercab, during a major event in Los Angeles. The futuristic vehicle promises to revolutionize urban transportation with its sleek, fully electric design and advanced self-driving capabilities.
Priced at $30,000, the Cybercab aims to make autonomous transportation more accessible to the masses. Musk highlighted that the Robotaxi could significantly reduce the cost of rides compared to traditional ride-hailing services, as there’s no driver to pay. Tesla plans to roll out the fleet gradually, with a focus on urban hubs in the United States before expanding internationally.
The vehicle is equipped with Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, which Musk claims will deliver the safest, most efficient rides on the market. “This is the future of transportation. It’s a massive step toward a more sustainable, connected, and autonomous world,” said Musk during the launch.
Tesla has also announced that the Robotaxi will be integrated into its existing app, allowing owners to opt in and earn passive income by sharing their vehicle when not in use. The first batch of deliveries is expected in early 2025.
