On 17th March 2023, the Irish and Irish-at-heart across the world celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day with parades, green clothing, and traditional Irish food and drinks. This year, the Pakistani community in Ireland also joined in the festivities, showcasing the multiculturalism that Ireland has to offer.
The Pakistani community in Ireland is a vibrant and diverse group, with a population of over 20,000. They have established themselves in various parts of the country, with significant populations in Dublin, Cork, and Galway. Over the years, they have integrated into Irish society while still maintaining their own unique cultural identity.
For this year’s Saint Patrick’s Day, the Pakistani community participated in the festivities with great enthusiasm. They joined the parade in Dublin, which is one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the world. The Pakistani community showcased their rich cultural heritage by wearing traditional Pakistani attire and performing traditional Pakistani dances, which was a treat for everyone in attendance.
