DUBLIN -11th Aug 2024 POC Ireland organized yet another successful event, bringing together the Pakistani community in Ireland for a day of celebration and national pride. The event, held to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day, was marked by an outpouring of joy and excitement, especially from children and families, whose love for Pakistan shone through in every moment.
The President of POC Ireland, Rana Usman, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed members of the community and various organizations that played a pivotal role in supporting and participating in the event. He encouraged the community to continue fostering collaboration and support for future initiatives, which will further strengthen ties within the diaspora.
Among the highlights of the celebration was a speech competition for children. The POC Ireland team extended a special thanks to all the kids who participated by sending in video messages. After careful consideration, the winners were announced:
- 1st Place: Faaiz Fahim
- 2nd Place: Kiswah Tahir
- 3rd Place: Adan Roshan Malik
Another exciting feature of the event was the annual car decoration competition, a long-standing tradition of POC Ireland. This year’s participants brought extra vibrancy and creativity to the Car Rally. Prizes for the best-decorated cars were awarded as follows:
- 1st Place: €500
- 2nd Place: A large hamper
- 3rd Place: A medium hamper
- 4th Place: A special gift
Congratulations were extended to all participants, whose hard work and dedication made the Car Rally a colorful spectacle. The POC Ireland team eagerly looks forward to hosting this beloved competition again next year, InshaAllah.
The success of the event was made possible through the generous support of sponsors, including Mr. Shamas Ali, Mr. Hamid Butt, and Mr. Zunair Akram. Their passion for the country and unwavering support enabled POC Ireland to organize a truly remarkable celebration.
The Azadi Mela was another major attraction of the day. POC Ireland expressed deep appreciation for the stallholders, whose creativity, enthusiasm, and hard work transformed the event into a lively and diverse marketplace. Special recognition was given to Madam Ambassador Aisha Farooqui, who visited all the stalls, encouraging small businesses with her presence and kind words. Congratulations also went to Hafsa Hussain, Media Advisor of POC Global, and Junaid Ashfaq, Coordinator of Co. Dublin, for organizing the stalls, ensuring a huge success for the Mela.
The event was further honored by the presence of Senator Gerry Horkan, who attended the celebrations. POC Ireland expressed deep gratitude to Fianna Fáil for their ongoing support of the Pakistani community in Ireland, acknowledging their continuous efforts in fostering a positive relationship.
