In a historic move, the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority (SMEDA) and Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) have send the first-ever delegation of Pakistani enterprises to Showcase Ireland 2024. The delegation, comprised of innovative and dynamic small and medium-sized businesses, is set to explore opportunities and foster collaborations in the international market.
Showcase Ireland 2024, a premier trade event in Dublin, brings together a diverse range of exhibitors and industry professionals from around the world. The Pakistani delegation aims to showcase the unique products and capabilities of the country’s small and medium enterprises on this global platform.
The Pakistani Embassy in Ireland, in collaboration with the Pakistan Ireland Business Council (PIBC), played a pivotal role in facilitating this groundbreaking initiative. The proactive approach of both entities underscores their commitment to fostering economic diplomacy and enhancing bilateral trade relations.
Her Excellency Aisha Farooqui, the Pakistani Ambassador to Ireland, expressed his enthusiasm about the delegation’s participation, stating, “This is a momentous occasion for Pakistani businesses. We are proud to showcase the rich diversity and ingenuity of our SMEs on a global platform. The collaboration between SMEDA, PSIC, and our embassy is a testament to the strong ties between Pakistan and Ireland.”
The Pakistan Ireland Business Council, has been instrumental in coordinating the visit and ensuring a smooth integration of Pakistani businesses into the international trade community. The council recognizes the immense potential for mutual economic growth through such collaborative efforts. The delegation are optimistic about the opportunities that Showcase Ireland 2024 presents.
Showcase – Ireland’s Creative Expo® is one of the Ireland’s largest international trade shows. Over 3,350 buyers visit the event from across the world, including Ireland, the UK, the USA, Mainland Europe and the Far East, generating sales orders of over €25.6 million during the 3 days of the show. Showcase is presented on behalf of Design & Crafts Council Ireland, with support from Enterprise Ireland in promoting the trade show internationally through their network of offices overseas and the Local Enterprise Offices nationwide. More than 400 Irish brands are exhibited at the fair, including emerging Irish businesses supported by their Local Enterprise Offices. Showcase is for trade attendance only.
