Dublin, 2nd Sept 2025 — Minister Jack Chambers met yesterday with community leaders representing the Pakistani, Indian, and Bangladeshi communities in Ireland in a well-attended and constructive gathering focused on tackling the recent rise in racism and attacks against migrant communities.
Hosted by Ali Asad, the meeting provided an open platform for dialogue on the challenges facing families and young people who increasingly feel unsafe in the current climate. Community representatives raised serious concerns while also putting forward constructive solutions on how government and communities can work together to address these issues.
Minister Chambers engaged meaningfully in the discussion and committed to following up on the points raised, signalling a real opportunity to transform dialogue into concrete action.
Speaking after the event, Ali expressed gratitude to the Minister and the community representatives for their efforts:
