Fahmeda Naheed received the prestigious Cork Civic Award from the Lord Mayor of Cork City, Cllr Kieran McCarthy. The Lord Mayor also congratulated Fahmeda on her radio show as a guest. This award was presented to Fahmeda for her service and dedication to the Irish-Pakistani community in Cork along with her cross-sectional work. The gala awards ceremony took place on April 10 at the Concert Hall in Cork City Council. Fahmeda was presented with a commemorative medal.

Fahmeda Naheed is originally from Pakistan and based in Cork. She is currently working with Doras on the SALAAM and SCORE Project-both on Racism and EU-funded projects. She broadcasts her radio show, Let’s Integrate with Cork City Community Radio, 100.5 fm.
She is a former garda staff member and writes for Garda Review Magazine. She is a tutor of Fusion Cooking (Irish-Pakistani food) with Cork City Partnership. She is a member of Faith of Sanctuary and an Ambassador of Schools of Sanctuary. She has won many awards and recognitions. She is the founder of the Irish Pakistani Community of Cork, which was a Lord Mayor Award winner in the year 2023. She is a co-chair of Cork Three Faiths Forum. She is also a member of the Ethnic Minority Domestic Observatory.
Fahmeda is a registered teacher with the Teaching Council of Ireland. She has worked in different capacities and roles as a trainer, Intercultural dialogue facilitator, translator/interpreter, community and researcher and has a few publications. She has remained involved in a number of projects for migrants and integration, including running diversity recruitment campaigns for An Garda Síochána, political participation of migrants in Ireland, training projects, policy initiatives, providing training on domestic and gender-based violence, campaigns through involving schools, and college students in raising awareness on diversity issues through public speaking, research and writing projects.
