Muslim European Empowerment Programme 2022

21 Muslim leaders from 14 different European countries converged on Kristiansand for a conference on European values in the light of increasing anti-Muslim hatred. Hosted by Kristiansand municipality and University of Agder in Southern Norway the conference focus was on solutions and best practice.
Ireland was represented by Shaykh Dr Umar Al-Qadri, chairperson of Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council and Chief Imam of the Islamic Centre of Ireland.
Dr. Al-Qadri led the Jummah prayer in University of Agder and also delivered a presentation on the solutions to Islamophobia in Europe by sharing best practices from Ireland.
They applauded the initiatives by the Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council which are effective in preventing Islamophobia in Ireland.
Secretary of the State of Norway and other diplomats, policy makers and dignitaries were present during the conference and were impressed by the work of peace building by Shaykh Dr Umar Al-Qadri.
